I’m headed to GDC 08 in a couple of weeks.  I can’t wait it should be a blast.  So far it has a much different feel than CES.  That probably has a lot to do with the much smaller size and tighter focus on a particular industry.  Based on last year’s attendance numbers, I would expect between 15,000 and 20,000 attendees this year.  That is a little over 10% of the size of CES 08.  It should be a great time.  GDC also has an interesting social networking site for registrants that allows you to put up a page and interact with other conference goers.  It feels like much more of a community than CES did.
